HOW WE WERE FOUNDED

Paradise Community Development Corporation (PCDC) was birthed from the ministry of Paradise Church of God in Christ under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Paul L. Fortson, Prelate of the Barbados and Caribbean Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, and First Lady Evangelist Carolyn C. Fortson.

The PCDC executes its mission through strategic partnerships with like-minded agencies and organizations.

While most ‘community development’ organizations focus on capital projects, we pour our efforts into what we believe to be the greatest asset in any community – its people.

OUR MISSION

The Paradise Community Development Corporation (PCDC) is a non-profit organization designed to positively impact the youth and families of Forest Park, GA. Through Faith-based programming that aids in the development of the whole being, the PCDC seeks to foster renewal & success in the life of every man, woman, and child it encounters within this community.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT & COO

The Paradise Community Development Corporation (PCDC) envisions a beloved community where all youth and families thrive spiritually, economically, mentally, emotionally, and physically. We work in partnership with like-minded organizations to maximize our ability to reach and serve more nationally and internationally. Through our united efforts, we aim to re-ignite hope and spark the passion to achieve in everyone we serve.

The PCDC and its incredible partners understand that success is not a one-person show; but rather a collaborative effort that requires constant input and feedback from all invested. Collectively, we strive to bring pivotal services and programs to the community that aid in academic achievement, poverty reduction and economic recovery, improving health and wellness, and strengthening families overall. By working together, we also help to ensure the sustainability of these invaluable and much-needed efforts.

With our focus on cooperative impact, the PCDC is bringing hope back to an all-but-forgotten part of the Metro Atlanta area. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood.”

We are indeed dedicated to our partners and those whom we serve.
We look forward to helping them change their lives for the better.

Dr. Paul Q. Fortson
